Batterers Intervention Domestic Violence Prevention

We offer an approved and certified domestic violence education program. Our goal is to strengthen individuals and families by providing services that encourage change, growth, and empowerment leading to improved personal development, family unification, and community connection. Our program is certified by the Alameda County Probation Department and the aim of the Batterers Intervention Program (BIP) is to stop domestic violence in Alameda County by providing psychoeducational group therapy designed to address causes of domestic violence, re-educate aggressors, and assist them to develop nonviolence strategies.

Our 52 week program consists of groups that are same gender (men groups for men and women groups for women), and for those on probation, and/or parole, for a domestic violence offence. The groups are a safe place for group members and are led by experienced facilitators who are culturally competent. Each facilitator guides group members to examine the origins of learned behavior and to develop new beliefs and values that lead to self-discovery and new behaviors. Currently this program is facilitated online due to the ongoing pandemic.
